The Waterbox is being used for automated remote meter reading of water meters. Once per day - usually in the morning - hourly values of the last 24h are transmitted to the WIKON Datacenter where they can then be further evaluated by the water engineer at the beginning of his shift.
Wireless remote meter reading and pressure monitoring using battery and cellular technology.
The Waterbox can be connected quickly and securely via plug 'n play with water meters on site. The inital configuration can be done on the WIKON Datacenter. Thresholds and other settings can also be adjusted via the Datacenter. The integrated data logger stores the measured values, which are being transmitted once a day.
Pipe bursts and leakages will be independently reported; the notifications are forwarded upon detection via SMS or email.
- - Internal self-adjusting real-time clock
- - Internal self-monitoring functionality (GSM signal / battery voltage)
- - Remote meter read-out and data evaluation via mobile app
- - No manual read-out on site required by an employee
This IoT system is capable to generate alarms in case of leakage and broken pipelines by observing remotely the consumption behavior of the water supply network, even on areas where the GPRS or GSM systems are badly available. Moreover, the monitoring on water, the supervision of the distribution and the stock of dry and wet bulk materials has the potential on opening new segments. Those areas and others innovative projects summed around 50 thousand equipment connections to WIKON's Global Data Center
